A Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence Seminar given by Dr. John Waters from the Department of Biology and Dr. Peggy Van Meter from Educational Psychology will report on their recent research in which they have identified aspects of biology diagrams students find most difficult.

Dr. Waters and Dr. Van Meter will also discuss the effectiveness of a learning strategy they used to help Penn State biology students learn from visual representations of information. This presentation is of interest to not only biologists, but to anyone who teaches in a discipline that uses figures and graphs.
