The Science Education Interest Group (SEIG)

Main Content

SEIG is a student interest group that focuses on science education. The group meets monthly to discuss topics related to science education, tour educational facilities, and to share program information.

ECoS students expressed an interest in having an interest group that focused on science education.  This group meets monthly and the interests of the group drive the meeting activities.  To date the group has discussed educational practices, pathways to certification, and toured the Innovation Studio and the Discovery Space Museum.  Anyone interested in joining this group can send an email to Jackie Bortiatynski ( and you will be added to our listserv.  Emails are sent out periodically to update the group on upcoming opportunities as well as meeting locations and times.  This is the perfect opportunity to interact with students from a variety of science majors who have a strong interest in science education.
